Foundation

The Loksutr Foundation is a not-for-profit section 8 company, dedicated to the documentation, research, and transmission of India's intangible knowledge traditions — oral mythologies, indigenous cosmologies, and living knowledge systems held by communities across Madhya Pradesh and beyond.

The Foundation is the research arm of Loksutr. It funds the fieldwork that the commercial practice would otherwise have to compromise on. It pays for the months of listening that happen before a single illustration is drawn. It makes it possible to spend a year with a community before producing anything at all.
